Ten reasons why having sex is good for you:

1. It lowers your stress levels and your blood pressure. Studies have shown that couples who regularly have intercourse have a better reaction to stressful situations than those who don't. The same studies also found that those same couples had lower diastolic blood pressure.

2. It boosts your immune system. Having sex once or twice a week actually increases immunogobulin A, which is a key factor in your immune system. So, having sex (1 to 2 times per week) fights colds and other infections naturally!

3. It burns calories. One 30 minute bedroom session with your partner can burn 85+ calories! It's a terrific fun work out that you can do together.

4. It helps your heart. Scientists have found that having sex 1 to 2 times a weeks (especially for men) actually improves the condition of their heart. And, it can reduce the risk of a fatal heart attack in men by 50%.

5. It boosts your self esteem. Researchers asked what were the reasons people had sex. One of the most common answers was because it made them (the participant) feel good about themselves. The study also found that those who had sex regularly had better self esteem in general.

6. It improves intimacy. Having sex releases the hormone oxytocin. Oxytocin gives us that "feel good" feeling and helps us to trust and bond with our partner.

7. Its a natural pain reliever. As the oxytocin releases your endorphins (pain blockers) rise as well. Thus helping to relieve any pain we might be having.

8. It decreases the risk of prostate cancer. Men in their 20's, who had frequent (5+) ejaculations each week reduced their risk of getting prostate cancer by at least a third.

9. It strengthens your PC muscles. Doing Kegels while having intercourse will do two things. First, it will help to strengthen your PC muscles. ( no, not your personal computer muscles, your pelvic floor muscles) These are the muscles responsible for controlling your flow of urine. I will talk more about Kegels tomorrow. The second thing it will do is increase the pleasure for you and your partner. To do a Kegel simply tighten the muscles in your vagina like you are stopping your pee mid stream.

10. It will help you sleep. The oxytocin released during intercourse is also responsible for helping you sleep. But, a healthy heart, a good weight and lower stress are also beneficial for good sleep, and they are ALL benefits of having sex!

Its a win win folks! So, go on, and get into bed!!
